Rich Rider

Rich Rider, a native of East Norman, Oklahoma, experienced a profound shift in his faith at 18 after the death of an uncle. Marrying his wife Audra at 23, Rich faced a devastating tragedy when his father was murdered shortly after their first child, Lane, was born. The experience of dealing with multiple trials and law enforcement interactions inspired Rich to join a local law enforcement agency in 2016 to provide the same peace to others that his family received. Despite holding various roles in the agency, the stressors of being a first responder and unresolved trauma from his father's murder began to strain his family relationships, leading Rich to seek professional help with a trauma counselor specializing in EMDR. This journey allowed him to heal and rebuild his family bonds.

In late 2022, Rich attended a life-changing PCIS with his wife, hosted by Warriors Rest Foundation. Motivated by this experience, he started building a peer support team at his department in early 2023, securing a grant to provide free counseling for officers and continuously working to enhance mental health support. Rich and Audra, celebrating their 15th wedding anniversary in mid-2024, continue raising their three children. Through his PEER work, Rich aims to help others avoid the mistakes he made, emphasizing the impact of job-related stress on families and the importance of their support in the line of work.
